JAGUARS SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT, GIANTS ARE FRAUDULENT, A RECAP OF THE SATURDAY NFL DIVISIONAL PLAYOFF GAMES

The blog starts off going one for two in picks, making it 1-1 all time. Tonight we have a chance to end up 3-1 all time, and confidence couldn’t be higher with the picks I’ve made. Now, lets recap last night’s games:

Game one: Chiefs limp to a win over the Jags, Mahomes is THAT guy, Jags +8.5 hits

If there is one takeaway from this game, it’s that Mahomes is who we thought he was, and he showed that he’s got that dawg in him last night. His ankle injury looked like it could’ve toasted his knee as well, but that didn’t stop him from getting back on the field to put the final nail in the Jags coffin.

The Jags looked good all game until their second and third to last drives. Lawrence looked great, Etienne was a beast, and the wide outs were representing Duval well. The problem is, they waited too long to cash in their turnovers that happen every game. Somehow it slipped my mind in the moment, but when Agnew fumbled, the one word I could think of was “overdue”. Then T-Law threw his pick, and the same thought creeped into my thick skull. I think that this team is going to cause problems next year, especially with the addition of uber talented Calvin Ridley who they got for a bag of chips, but unfortunately their 2022/23 season ends here

Good news is, my pick of Jags +8.5 hit after Patterson’s field goal with 30 seconds to play. I was worried for a second that they would go for another shot at the end zone and roll over if it flopped, but Doug Peterson didn’t fail me. It almost seemed like he urged his boys to throw on the spread, and sealed it for them with the field goal. Thanks for that Doug.

Game two: Eagles roll through the Giants, NY +7.5 wildly misses

You don’t hit all your bets, but this one wasn’t even close. But hey, as the great one always says, you miss every shot you don’t take.

Jalen Hurts and the birds looked so good last night. He was playing out of his mind, and Coach Sirianni had some well deserved high praise for him in his post game presser: “it’s like having Michael Jordan out there”. While Jordan played baseball and was pretty good at that basketball thing, who knows if he’d be as solid as Hurts in the pocket. I think I might be missing the point, but long story short, Hurts was terrific.

Now, lets talk about the New York Football Giants. I have no idea why I ever picked them. Could it be my recent hatred towards Philly as a Pats fan? Possibly. But if that were the case, I should’ve thought back on the two times the G-Men robbed us of a Lombardi. So, sorry lads, this ones on me. If there is anything that I think the Giants could’ve done to match the Eagles onslaught, it would be to get the ball in Saquon’s hands early and often.

Reminder of tonight’s picks:

Tonight we have what I think are the two best games of the weekend. First, Joey B and his Bengals go into Buffalo to take on JA and his Bills. I think that even with the weather, this should be a shootout. So, my pick: Over 49.5

The next game we have is the Cowboys at the Niners. This game will determine for me whether the Cowboys join the likes of the Vikings and Giants as the frauds of this NFL season. Personally, I think that they will be steamrolled in a similar fashion as the Giants last night, but if everything clicks on both sides of the field it will be a terrific game. My pick: San Fran -3.5, and I’d hammer it.
