FORMAT FOR THE FALL + PICKS FOR TOMORROW’S NEBRASKA VS COLORADO GAME

NFL Football + Colorado

Here we are ladies and gents. NFL football is fully back, marking the start of the best sports season of the year. Last night, the Lions upset the Chiefs in what some have called a mediocre game, but nonetheless, the greatest sport on earth has returned, and even its worst games beat out summer baseball. So, in honor of the NFL returning and this season being the first to be covered by A2Z Sports, I have come up with an idea (I know, that is a rare and dangerous occurrence).

PLAN FOR THE NFL SEASON

Here’s what I’m going to do: Usually, I only bet on the things I am confident about, but this fall I will force myself to make picks on the spread and the over/under for every game. Of course, with the spread I will also give moneyline picks for when I think an underdog team will come out and beat their opponents straight up. A great example of this was last night’s Lions. I had them as a mortal lock, and because of that their spread and moneyline would count as two separate bets. Speaking of my confidence in the Lions, I placed loads of long legged parlays centered around Detroit player props that would’ve paid off hundreds of units if they had hit. “If” was the key word in that sentence. Luckily (or should I say skillfully), I doubled down on Detroit at +330 shortly after the second half kicked off, netting me +$3 dollars on the night. So, drink on me! (no, I didn’t forget the “s” in drinks, $3 can only get you so far).

Now, you may be asking “when will these picks come out so I can fade each and every one of them?”. And to that I say, fair point, but expect them to be released each Saturday on our Twitter @a2zsportstakes. Now, releasing these picks on Saturday’s does mean that I’ll be missing the Thursday night matchups, but don’t fret, those too will be posted, but just separately each Thursday afternoon.

By the end of the season, I should have the history of all of my bets, their odds, and my individual success rate. That’s 272 games, at least 544 picks, and for each Sunday slate I’ll give what I think are locks, avoid at all cost games, and much more. Also, there’s no Stu Feiner here at A2Z Sports (yet, at least), so you won’t have to pay $69 every week for my picks. Just follow us on Twitter, and you’ll get semi-expert picks week after week. I have also consulted my brothers and mentioned this plan to my beloved co writer, Jack, so you may just get more picks than I’ve planned for here in this article.

Using the results of my picks and their individual odds, I will use a spreadsheet to find out how many units I would be up or down after each week. Of course, I will update you loyal readers week after week, and by the end of the season I will know if I am truly as good of a gambler as I believe myself to be. Stay tuned, because this should be a wildly entertaining rollercoaster ride, and I might just win you some money. As of now, I am +1.749 units after hitting the Lions spread and moneyline, but missing the over.

COLORADO VS NEBRASKA

Tomorrow, my Colorado Buffaloes face off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the first home game of the season. While Boulder is buzzing like I’ve never seen, the past few nights I have been out at bars, and to say that we have a lot of cocky Cornhuskers here would be an understatement. I had a guy come up to me last night and say that our football team is “a bunch of baby dicks” and that they’ll “beat us “unremorsefully”. When I responded saying “do you enjoy beating baby dicks often?” he failed to come up with a response. Checkmate.

On a serious note though, I can’t wrap my head around how these Nebraskans think they stand a chance against us after their pitiful performance against the University of Minnesota last week. Losing to the Golden Gophers 13-10 should not instill the level of confidence I’ve seen these fans displaying over the past few days. Blind confidence can be a good thing, but I just don’t think it’ll help their cause in tomorrow’s matchup.

Here are FanDuel’s lines for the game as of now:

The utter disrespect. I think you already know my picks, but here they are in ink. Colorado will wipe the floor with Nebraska’s trash team, and I think they could cover the over on their own. I’m hammering CU -2.5 (I’m taking an alternate spread of -9.5 as well), and also throwing on the over. I realize that the over is a much tougher bet, but if we were able to put up 45 against TCU’s solid defense last week, hell, we could drop 100 tomorrow.

That’s all for tonight folks. Stay tuned for more football news, picks, and analysis, right here at A2Z Sports. It’s so good to be back!
