USING AI TO REDESIGN EVERY NFL TEAM’S LOGO – PART 1

NFL logo redesign
Generated by Bing AI

Greetings, A2Z Sports reader! If you frequent this site, you know that I talk about sports gambling in most of my posts, so today I wanted to switch it up a little bit and try something new. Recently, I have been seeing people using artificial intelligence to create images depicting athletes, so I wanted to try out something similar.

Using Bing AI, I fed the chat guidelines to recreate logos for all AFC teams in the NFL. For example, for the Jaguars, I told the AI to “make a new logo for the Jacksonville Jaguars that shows a jaguar catching a football in its mouth”. I included two of the redesigns per team below, so take a look, and I’ll give my thoughts on them afterwards.

CHIEFS

RAIDERS

BRONCOS

CHARGERS

PATRIOTS

JETS

DOLPHINS

BILLS

RAVENS

BROWNS

STEELERS

BENGALS

COLTS

TITANS

JAGUARS

TEXANS

As you likely noticed as you scrolled through those redesigns, the AI currently has a few flaws. First off, it’s spelling is terrible (and no, that’s not from me loading the chat up with typos). My personal favorite of the misspells soccured in the second Colts logo, which read “IIndianapoos” instead of Indianapolis. Other good ones were “Kainas Ciity Chiiiffs” and the Cleveland “Brruwns”.

The second flaw that you likely noticed was the blatant plagiarism of current NFL logos. No matter how many times I told the AI to stop pulling inspiration from a team’s current logo, it wouldn’t listen. The only times where the AI would stop using current logos was for teams with simple animals as their mascots. A great example of this was the Miami Dolphins, which ended up being one of my favorite redesigns.

Now, on the topic of favorite designs, I think my favorite of this group would have to be the one for the Buffalo Bills. I wanted a logo “that shows a buffalo in the snow” and without needing a single edit, the AI did an amazing job. The snow on the back and under the feet, plus the classic team colors made a well-rounded, professional-grade logo.

In summary, I think that AI has a while to go until it can compete with professional logo designers. Just look at a few of these redesigns done by a non-professional on Tik Tok, and you’ll see where I’m coming from:

And that’s it for the day! Let me know your most and least favorites, and if you liked this new format, drop a comment below and I might just do AI redesigns for the whole NFC!
