NY JETS FIRE ROBERT SALEH – HAD TO FORCIBLY REMOVE HIM FROM FACILITY

Robert Saleh

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson (gigidy) reached his limit (double gigidy) on how much more he could take (gigidy gigidy goo) with his team’s bad coaching.

There will be no more vulgar jokes in this article. I promise. His name is just too much of a lob to pass up on, and it feels good to make fun of billionaires for once.

WJ (I’ll just call him that for the rest of the article to restrain myself) fired his 3rd-year head coach Robert Saleh this morning. Saleh must not have seen it coming or been too happy with the decision, because multiple reports state that he had to be “escorted out of the building by the team’s director of security” and was “not allowed to meet with players or inform the team” (PFT, Bleacher Report).

This is the first mid-season firing of a coach that WJ has committed in his 25 years of owning the Jets, and personalities across the league are confused by the timing of the decision. Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy had this to say about the situation:

“I don’t know what the Jets ownership is thinking. You’re five games into the season and getting ready to play a game for first place in your division and you fire the coach. In 1999, my Tampa Bay Buccaneers were 2-3 and we went on to go to the NFC Championship game. I’m glad I didn’t get fired after week 5 that year”

(Dungy’s text message to PFT)

This is saying a lot coming from Dungy, because as great of a coaching career as he had, he is one of the most insufferable, life sucking, straight-up boring analysts/color commentators on TV, and NBC should have fired him YEARS ago.

I digress, and I’m sorry, coach. I’m just trying to hold you accountable.

Others across the league, including myself, are questioning Aaron Rodgers’ role in Saleh’s firing. It’s hard to imagine WJ not talking with Rodgers after allowing him to have a massive say over the makeup of the team and its offseason endeavors. If this was truly Rodgers’ decision to get rid of Saleh, he is on a Palpatine-esque rise to power within the Jets organization.

Sith Rodgers

That photo was the result of another 15 minute sidetrack with an AI image generator, but totally worth it.

My final remarks on this blog will be about the possible future head coach of this team. The Jets announced that DC Jeff Ulbrich will act as the interim head coach, and in my opinion, there are two, maybe three (if WJ is feeling risqué) options for a head coach if they wanted to bring one in.

1 – Bill Belichick

2 – Mike Vrabel

3 – John Gruden

The first two are easy triggers to pull, but Gruden is certainly more risqué after his firing from the Raiders. That being said, he has been slowly creeping back into the football world, and he does love him a gunslinger quarterback like Rodgers.

That’s all for this one. Bit of a weird one today, but let me know your thoughts in the comments below on anything I said. From WJ, to Saleh, to Dungy, to Darth Rodgers, to Gruden, I’d love to hear your takes.
