MESSI DOES IT AGAIN

Messi

In my last blog, I talked about Messi’s movie-like debut for Inter Miami, where he scored a game winning free kick in the 94th minute. Last night, Messi made his first start for the team, and it only took eight minutes for him to bury his second:

This was so early in the game that fans hadn’t gotten to their seats yet. The coolest video you’ll see of the goal was filmed by a couple of lads who didn’t even have the time to even scope out their row before the GOAT put one in right in front of them:

The cackles by these guys at the end sums up the Messi/MLS situation very well. It’s such a joke that Messi is as good as he is. He’s 36, yet he’s making it look as easy as a mascot in a kids half time show.

The force choke to David Beckham was an all time celly too. This guy went to the dark side and is taking no prisoners.

But, Messi didn’t stop after the first goal in the eighth minute. He went on to score another, and assist Robert Taylor on one more. Taylor was the one who found Messi for his second goal, and some serious chemistry seems to be building between the two. Not only is it a dream to play with Messi, but to be his go to man is something else. Robert Taylor is looking like he is that guy right now.

If you are thinking like me and want to sprinkle some action on Inter Miami winning the MLS Cup, Vegas is ahead of you (as always). The average odds for Miami to win the championship before Messi signed were +17500. Now, they sit at a much lower, yet still tasty, +1800. At the price of one Alexander Hamilton, you would receive one Ben Franklin and four Andrew Jacksons in return. In fantasy football trade terms, this my friends would be a fleece.

If you couldn’t tell from the wild analogy that finished off my last paragraph, I am a lost soul when football isn’t in my life. Messi’s debut games at Inter Miami have helped loads with my sports consumption, but because I am an addict, nothing truly scratches my itch until I hear Scott Hansons angelic voice utter “Seven hours of commercial free football start…NOW!”

7 Sundays away. I can make it. Maybe.
